Josephine and Bertie, tiny elves resembling humans, live in the midst of a deep forest. Bertie’s job is to look after some very special jingly mushrooms – night lamps – which he lights up and puts out every day. Josephine takes care of a group of fussy red mushrooms – she powders their cheeks, cleans their hats and makes sure they don´t argue too much. One day the little water nymph Rusalka appears and Bertie´s mushrooms start disappearing.
