The best short animated film in the opinion of the children’s jury (Žan Cesar Zore, Korina Lara Košak, Leon Modic, Rožle Deu, Eva Medvešek; aged 6 to 12) is Molly in Springtime by Pierre-Luc Granjon from French studio Folimage, which appeared in The Elephant in Competition program. The film received the NLB Vita prize for the children’s Elephant program worth a 1.000 EUR.

The audience also picked their favorite, the 1.000 EUR Maestro® Audience Award went to the Big Bang Big Boom by BLU from Italy.

The Maestro® Jury Grand Prix went to Miramare Michaele Müller from Switzerland. The film received the prize of 2.000 EUR. The international jury consisting of Olga Pärn (BelaRus, Estonia), Alex Baladi (Switzerland), Malcolm Sutherland (Canada), Solweig von Kleist (Germany, France) and Jayne Pilling (Great Britain) selected this movie because of "its original approach to visual storytelling and sensitive use of sound. The film creates a rhythmic dance between figuration and abstraction, drawing the viewer into a mysterious world."

The whole jury also gave the special mention to movie In the Air by Martinus Daane Klemet from Estonia. They selected this one because: »The film's clever construction develops an apparently absurdist narrative into a playful and witty social critique.«

Each jury member also picked one film to his own liking. Alex Baladi gave his special mention to the film The Smaller Room by artists Cristóbal León and Nina Wehrle from Switzerland, because: »A mysterious and poetic universe is coming to life in a very simple room with materials of everyday life. A brilliant animation, full of melancholy, anxeity and beauty...I'm hungry for more!«
Olga Pärn and Jayne Pilling gave together the special mention to two movies. First is The Play of Silence, Virginia Mori from Italy because of "its beautifully spare visual poetry, subtlety, and emotional resonance." Second is The Gallery, Robert Proch from Poland for "its visual elegance and freshness: a real pleasure to watch."
Malcolm Sutherland exposure Viliam, Veronika Obertová from Slovak Republic. »This film has inventive animation and excellent timing. The understated humour and ironic, self-aware approach add depth to a deceptively simple story.«
Solweig von Kleist gave the special mention to Big Bang Big Boom by BLU from Italy for "its inventive animation, using paint and objects, involving public space and architecture, resulting in a fresh contemporary approach to
animation full of creative energy."
In European Student Competition Programme won movie Benigni, autors Jasmiini Ottelin, Pinja Partanen in Elli Vuorinen from Turku Arts Academy for "an intimate drama about loneliness, out of which an unussual and tragical relationship appears."

A Special honorable mention in European Student Competition Programme for an interesting concept and dynamic visual expression went to SPLIT, autors Abel Kohen, Lucie Casale, Justine Dubreux and Maxence Hyerneaux from France.
Animateka also held the AnimaWeb contest for web and mobile device based animations for the third time this year - AnimaWeb. Visitors of the contest’s website chose the film Module 2020 by Aline Helmcke from Germany.
