The 20th edition of International Animated Film Festival Animateka is inviting authors of short animations to submit their films for the Main Competition Programme (short animated films from Central, Southern and Eastern Europe), The Elephant in Competition Programme (international program of short animated films for children) and European Young Talents Competition Programme (short student animated films).

There is also a new VR@ANIMATEKA Competition Programme (international programme of animated VR works) taking place at this year’s Animateka! The competition is open to short animated projects made for VR, specifically to VR works in the VR (6DOF), VR (3DOF), Interactive 360°, and 360° Video format (the duration of which must not exceed 30 minutes of total running time per project).

The festival will take place from 27 November to 3 December 2023.

As in the past years, the submission process can be done online.

The deadline for submissions is July 15th, 2023.

The films must be completed in 2022 or 2023. Films previously screened at the Animateka festival are not eligible.

Traditionally, with the call for submissions open, the festival presents its new visual identity! This year it was prepared by Gianluigi Toccafondo.

Gianluigi Toccafondo (San Marino, 1965) is an artist, animator and illustrator, a representative of the generation of Italian painters working in animation. He is an all-round artist, in love with graphic art, cinema and their respective hybridizations and transformations.
