To celebrate 20 years of Animateka, we are showing a selection of award-winning films from past festival editions: from a student work by Polish icon Marta Pajek, to animation gems by Estonian filmmakers Kaspar Jancis and Kristjan Holm, the films which put Michaela Müller and Špela Čadež on the world map of animation, to a masterpiece by the one and only Tomek Popakul.

A programme of thematically and stylistically diverse animated stories by female directors, among whom we can find already established names both in Slovenia and internationally, as well as young talents who bring freshness to the programme.

The programme brings to the audience a thoughtfully selected collection of outstanding short audiovisual works by female and female-identifying filmmakers from the last editions of the Animation Festival Network member festivals. Programmers of Animateka, Animest, Fest Anča, Animafest and Anifilm acknowledge the female power and stress the importance of female voices in the industry of animated films. The selection introduces unique entertaining as well as dark stories told in various animation techniques.
