A monetary award in the amount of \u20ac1,000.<\/p>\n<p>Award goes to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>I Died in Irpin (2024)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Anastasiia Falileieva<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justification: We decided to award a film that through sensitive, vulnerable and honest writing tells the story of a person that&#8217;s trapped in a city in a country at war, while at the same time trapped in a toxic relationship. Through the use of subtle humour and small everyday relatable moments, the director strikes a delicate balance within her narrative and makes her personal tragedy relatable. By mixing different media, the urgency of the story remains throughout. We are proud to award the Jury Grand Prix to I Died in Irpin by Anastasiia Falileieva.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>VR@ANIMATEKA AWARD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Awarded for films in the VR@Animateka programme. A monetary award in the amount of \u20ac1,000 is presented by Beletrina Digital.<\/p>\n<p>Award goes to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ito Meikyu (2024)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Boris Labb\u00e9<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justification: The VR project invites its audience to explore the director\u2019s universe and evoked strong emotions with the jury. We appreciated the use of space infused with 2D imagery and how it invites to rewatching and exploration to find new narratives. The VR@Animateka Award goes to Ito Meikyu by Boris Labb\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>YOUNG TALENT STUDENT JURY AWARD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Awarded for films in the European Young Talents Competition Programme. A monetary award in the amount of \u20ac1,000 is presented jointly by the School of Arts (University of Nova Gorica) and Academy of Fine Arts and Design (University of Ljubljana).<\/p>\n<p>Special mention:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weeds (2024)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pola Kozak<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justification: We saw a diverse and powerful range of films \u2013 from the extremely witty Keep Frozen! to the poignant Adi\u00f3s. We would like to give our special mention to a film that we found to be a complete and technically accomplished work. Its pace completely absorbed us in its story. Our special mention goes to the film Weeds (Pola Kazak).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Award goes to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bunnyhood (2024)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mansi Maheshwari<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justification: Choosing the award winner was a difficult process, but ultimately, we decided to award a film that impressed us with its effective use of the expressive potential of animation, its fresh depiction of growing up, its bold grotesqueness and the effectiveness of its humour. Our award goes to Bunnyhood (Mansi Maheshwari).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>THE ELEPHANT CHILDREN JURY AWARD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Awarded for films in the Elephant in Competition programme. A monetary award in the amount of \u20ac1,000.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Special mention goes to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cases of Sergeant Goodmind (2024)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Filip Tat\u00fdrek<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justification: Our special mention goes to a film that won us over with its funny drawings, animation and story. We loved the vivid colours, the interestingly animated characters and the film&#8217;s message of how good always triumphs over evil and how we are stronger together. We would like to give a special mention to Cases of Sergeant Goodmind (Filip Tat\u00fdrek).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Award goes to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Night Boots (2024)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pierre-Luc Granjon<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justification: We are awarding this film for its visuals and the very special technique in which it was made. The unusual story of friendship and overcoming fear captivated us because it stood out from the other animated films we had seen. The main prize goes to Night Boots (Pierre-Luc Granjon).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE ELEPHANT AUDIENCE AWARD <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Awarded for films in the Elephant in Competition programme. A monetary award in the amount of \u20ac1,000.<\/p>\n<p>Award goes to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pond (2023)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lena von D\u00f6hren, Eva Rust<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>;DSAF AUDIENCE AWARD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Awarded for films in the Main Competition. A monetary award in the amount of \u20ac1,000 is presented by the Slovene Animated Film Association.<\/p>\n<p>Award goes to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Car That Came Back from the Sea (2023)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Jadwiga Kowalska<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL MENTIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GRAND JURY:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SPECIAL MENTION Wouter Jansen<\/p>\n<p><strong>Long Distance (2024)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael Frei<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justification: Efficient in all the best ways. A comedic love story where the main character is just one pixel. The Special Mention by Wouter Jansen goes to Long Distance by Michael Frei.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SPECIAL MENTION Jenny Jokela<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vegan Mayo (2024)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Luca T\u00f3th<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justification: This movie is made following the brilliant recipe of searing humour, spicy timing and tasty technique. And of course sausage. Jenny Jokela\u2019s special mention goes to Vegan Mayo by Luca T\u00f3th.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SPECIAL MENTION Chintis Lundgren<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matta and Matto (2023)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bianca Caderas, Kerstin Zemp <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justification: This film was weird and disturbing. A reminder that our need for human connection is so big that it\u2019s worth sacrificing\u2026 fingers for it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SPECIAL MENTION Izibene O\u00f1ederra<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Voice of the Sirens (2024)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Gianluigi Toccafondo <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justification: The author seduces with a mature language, the celebration of life in its wild state, using allegorical figures of screeching colors. Izibene O\u00f1ederra\u2019s special mention goes to La voix des sir\u00e8nes by Gianluigi Toccafondo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SPECIAL MENTION Jonatan Schwenk<\/p>\n<p><strong>On Hold (2024)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Delia Hess <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justification: In less then 7 minutes, the author traps us in the moment, freezing time to let us witness the only right moment slipping away forever.
